This track was created for the X Sounds Project, a collaboration between label/creative group Burlei and visual artist Kit Kite.

While an edit is included in a limited edition 3 x 7" picture disc set, this is the full unedited version of the track.

We were given Kit Kite's portraits for her X Housewives Project, along with accompanying field recordings recorded by Burlei. Our task was to choose a portrait/sample and incorporate it into an original track. The picture we chose is titled "Closet Dialog."

The music was recorded in one session on a 2 track cassette tape - drums on the left organ on the right. Some minimal overdubs were added later in the mixing process and the music was pieced together in sections. Inspired by the feelings evoked by the chosen portrait, it was purely improvisational and nothing was written or rehearsed beforehand.

The music was played and captured as raw as possible to hold true to a lost art form of live recorded music. There are imperfections in the recording that are human and alive. We wanted the track to show in each musical phrase the different phases, faces, and emotional places we experience day to day. Nothing about it is perfect in any way; hope you find something to connect with in the music.
